Barnes's discussion is an excellent summary of the story that we wanted to convey to the seismic interpretation community. His description of additional seismic attributes that react to distortions in seismic reflection waveshape should be a valuable reference for seismic stratigraphers and may indeed have greater impact on the seismic interpretation profession than will our longer paper that focused on only one of the attributes (instantaneous frequency) that can be used to detect stratigraphic and structural discontinuities.

We, and no doubt Barnes, wait for others to expand these ideas and develop improved technologies and procedures for detecting those wavelet interferences...
