Abstract

It is proposed to test the accuracy of delta-t velocities by finding the average deviations and probable errors of the delta-t readings. Data are provided to demonstrate that errors smaller than one per cent can reasonably be expected. The quantitative effect of numbers of observations, shooting set-ups, quality of data, and computing methods are discussed, and examples shown. Examples of regional and local lateral gradient are added.
