In a recent paper, Notfors and Godfrey (1987) presented an approximate analytical expression for a common-offset dip moveout (DMO) operator in the space, logarithmic-time domain. This operator yields an efficient frequency-wavenumber DMO algorithm. In this note we extend Notfors and Godfrey's work to obtain an approximate DMO operator in the logarithmic space and time domains and propose an efficient frequency-wavenumber DMO algorithm that is applied to shot gathers. A synthetic example is presented.
