The use of a linear quadripole as an energizing source in geoelectrical prospecting stemmed from an idea of Corson and Lorrain (1962). It was applied as a square array in the experimental studies of resistivity modeling by Doicin (1976). In the present paper a similar energizing source is used and is designated a "linear quadripole source."
