The only assumption made in deriving equation (6) is that the inverse v^(t) is complex. Complex does not imply analytic. Clearly, we remove a degree of freedom if we restrict the real and imaginary parts of the inverse to be related by a Hilbert transform. No deconvolution algorithm that leads to such a restriction can produce results that could not be obtained by simply inverting the real wavelet.
