In our paper on the deconvolution of phase-shifted wavelets, we adopted the convolutional model of the seismogram from the outset. This showed that the seismogram can be represented as the real part of the convolution of the complex reflectivity function with an analytic wavelet. Our goal was to devise a mathematical and algorithmic procedure whereby the complex model could be recovered.
