Abstract

Fisher and Howard (1980) present a new procedure where the appropriate density values corresponding to the individual prisms of their model are sought via the quadratic programming method, so that the cumulative effect of these prisms should be as close as possible in the least mean square sense to the measured values. Since the two-dimensional system of prisms consists of q (>1) rows, the authors have to use prisms of much greater horizontal size than station spacing in order to have a sufficient number of equations for the determination of the unknown densities.
