Borehole geophysical logging has been successfully used for identification and evaluation of coal deposits and was recorded by many authors, e.g., Tixier and Alger (1970), Bond et al (1971), Reeves (1971), Lavers and Smits (1976), Kayal (1979), and Kayal and Das (1981). They have mainly discussed the application of electrical, gamma-ray, density, caliper, neutron, and sonic logging for analyzing coal deposits.
