SEG's Safety Committee Chairman, W. E. (Gene) Hearne, reports that in 1975 geophysical exploration accidents increased in total injuries and more than twice as many days were lost as in 1974 (see Table 1). The accident frequency and severity rates indicate that geophysical work is still the most hazardous in the oil industry.
