In the introduction to this paper, the impression is given that the two-dimensional imaging of isochrons, as a method of detailing subsurface geometry, was first described by Walton in 1970. I would call the attention of the authors to U. S. patent No. 2,925,138 (reissue 25,204) originally issued on February 16, 1960 to C. H. Becker. So far as I have been able to determine, this is the earliest published description of the basic method described by the authors. Attention should also be called to U. S. patent No. 3,327,287 issued to J. D. Ball and W. D. Mounce, June 20, 1967, which describes a technique whereby crossed linear arrays may be used in place of areal arrays.
