Geophysicists are constantly faced with the problem of showing geological data at the proper scale on seismic "time" sections, in order to help their geological colleagues put the seismic data into proper spatial relationship. This is a critical problem with the modem seismic "record" sections which have both vertical (reflection times) and horizontal (spread length) scales that differ radically from the geologist's conventional distance (feet or meters) scales.
