Those of us who have followed a career in geophysics throughout the recession in geophysical activity extending from 1952 through 1963 often may have been uncertain about the wisdom of our choice of a career. The extremely low enrollment in geophysics courses at colleges and universities reflects a ten-year lack of demand for graduates with this training.
