This review of airborne electromagnetic techniques is intended to assist exploration personnel in their appreciation of the variations in the different types of instruments and in selection of the tool best suited to their particular problem. Although the method is a tested and proven tool, it has not been used to its full extent, and there are many areas surrounding productive mining camps in the U.S. that have never been the subject of an airborne survey.
