Abstract

Outlines the program of seismic investigations in the Suez gulf-southwest Sinai peninsula region, Egypt, leading to the discovery of oil-bearing structures at Belayim (an anticlinal trap) and Feiran, Abu Rudeis, and Ekma (fault traps). Miocene sandstones are the reservoir rocks, and marls at the base of the Miocene series in the central part of the Suez graben are considered the source beds.
