Abstract

Transient coupling between insulated circuits of finite length grounded at their end points in an infinite homogeneous and conducting medium is investigated. The general result is specialized to the case of a typical electrodal array as used in electrical resistivity logging in wells or drill holes. A graphical example shows how the voltages build up to their static value due to a suddenly applied current.
