Abstract

A comparison of time-depth curves obtained by statistical analysis of delta-times with similar curves from well velocity surveys is presented, representative of results of a study made at a total of 21 wells located in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Mississippi, Nebraska, and North Dakota. A method applicable to routine studies of delta-times is described. A conclusion is drawn that with average quality reflection data an accuracy of 2 to 3 percent in velocities so obtained may be expected.
