Abstract

This paper discusses chronologically the geophysical methods used in discovering the Lake St. John Field in Concordia and Tensas Parishes, Louisiana, and compares the results of these with the structure revealed by subsequent drilling. The discovery well was drilled in 1942 and the field has produced approximately 6,310,000 barrels to date.
