COVER: Rare transparent cassiterite crystal from Yunnan (South China), which is one of the largest Sn belts globally and has been mined for more than 2000 years. Granite derived from biotite-dehydration melting at high temperature is the key contributor to the formation of the Sn ore belt. See ‘The role of phyllosilicate partial melting in segregating tungsten and tin deposits in W-Sn metallogenic provinces’ by Zhao et al., p. 121–125.
