Where is the boundary between the North China block and the South China block in the Sulu area? The answer to this question is important for understanding the ultrahigh-pressure (P) collisional process and tectonic framework of northeast Asia. The Wulian-Yantai fault or Tan-Lu fault has been considered to be a suture zone in the Sulu area by previous studies. In their paper, Faure et al. (2001) suggest that the boundary must be placed north of the Sulu area. However, their evidence is still lacking, and we would like to put forward the following discussions.
