We welcome J.D. Archibald's comment because it signifies that workers on both sides of the extinction controversy finally agree that the “3 m gap” does not imply that dinosaurs were in decline prior to the Cretaceous-Tertiary impact. We hope that this will no longer be an issue, and that was the goal of our paper.
