Abstract
Relative to a recently proposed revision of the Ludlovian (Silurian) succession at Ludlow, western England, emphasizes the need for a dual system of rock stratigraphic and biostratigraphic units, particularly in advance of the publication of the detailed account of the geology. A suggested classification is given.
