Abstract
In the area south of Loch Monar in western Scotland, a swarm of camptonitic dikes is intruded into the limb of a large synclinal fold in the metamorphosed Moine series. The dikes include monchiquites, olivine basalts, olivine dolerites, and camptonites. They trend west- southwest as a rule, guided by the steep foliation planes in the Moine. It is thought that the camptonites originated by crystallization of late fractions from a magma of basaltic type. Chemical analyses are included.
