Abstract
Specimens of a small nonmarine gastropod, collected from the lower Beaufort stage (upper Permian) of Southern Rhodesia, are described as a new species, Hydrobia gondwanica. They bear some resemblance to species found in the Tatarian stage of the Russian Permian, which, however, have been assigned to extinct marine genera.
