With reference to discussion by A. E. Wright of a paper on the Precambrian and lower Paleozoic of southeastern Wexford (for reference, see this Bibliography Vol. 32, No. 5, 20 E68-05581), it is suggested that the Rosslare complex, the Lewisian, and certain other Precambrian units, including the Malvernian of the British Midlands, may be part of an ancient Precambrian complex or complexes forming part of the basement of the so-called Caledonian geosyncline.
