Abstract
Daviesiella destinezi appears to be restricted to the C 2 S 1 subzone of the lower Carboniferous of northwest Ireland and is therefore a useful index fossil. A detailed description of good specimens from Fermanagh county is given. The relation of some of the morphological features to the environment is considered.
