Abstract
Specimens of the graptolite, Monograptus scanicus, obtained from Silurian limestone boulders in Pleistocene deposits of the north German plain, allow a more accurate description of the thecal structure of the species. The thecae terminate in a pair of laterally placed, expanded lappets which are elongate ovid in shape, with the long axes perpendicular to the axis of the theca.
