Abstract

A fayalite-bearing quartz monzonite rock occurring at Bauchi, northern Nigeria, is thought to be a part of the basement complex and considerably older than the fayalite-bearing granites in the ring-dike intrusive series of the Newer Granites. The rock is described in detail, with two chemical analyses, computed molecular norms, petrographic data, and optical data for the ferromagnesian components.
