Abstract

At Stainmore, northeast of Lancaster, northern England, the upper Carboniferous succession consists of 300 feet of upper Yoredale series overlain unconformably by 630 feet of Millstone Grit, which in turn is overlain unconformably by 800 feet of Coal Measures. Previously unrecorded nonmarine plants and pelecypods are listed.
