Abstract

An occurrence of copper-ore nodules, probably ferruginous chalcocite, in sandstones and shales of the Daibaig beds (Precambrian) at Clachtoll, on the northwest coast of Scotland, is described. The ore is calculated to carry less than 0.5 percent copper. The origin is discussed and compared with the copper-bearing shales of Mansfeld, Germany.
