Abstract

The three recognized stages in the thermal metamorphism of siliceous limestones, characterized by the appearance of wollastonite, spurrite, and larnite, are extended to five with the addition of rankinite and tilleyite; three additional phases are added to the ten originally recognized for siliceous dolomitic limestones, namely, talc as the earliest, and tilleyite and rankinite as later phases.
