Abstract

In connection with a paper by Fairbridge the similarity of the Yandanooka series of Western Australia to the Hieroglyphic Limestone of the Flinders ranges in South Australia is described, and it is suggested that the fine-grained, structureless chocolate siltstones of the Yandanooka series may have been derived, like the chocolate slates of the Flinders ranges, from loess resulting from glaciation of basaltic highlands.
