Abstract
The microfossils present in clay beds associated with Westphalian coals, northwestern Germany, have been studied, and have substantiated the stratigraphic correlations previously made on the basis of macrofossils. It is possible that correlations between the English and Westphalian upper Carboniferous strata can be established by this method.
