Abstract

Continues the discussion of T. C. Yen's recently established genus Bathonella. On the basis of associated fossils in various localities, it is concluded that the evidence points to a brackish-water habitat which was inhabited at times by marine forms. Consequently, it may be more desirable to maintain a generic separation, even with the small differences in shells, inasmuch as the name Viviparus connotes fresh-water conditions.
