Abstract

A reply to L. L. Fermor's discussion of his investigations of pre-Cambrian rocks in India by means of radioactive determinations, in which the fact is stressed that he is attempting to recognize orogenic belts rather than correlate formations. Suggestions for determining the age of the Cuddapah system, indicated by Fermor as a basic need in the Indian problem, are given.
