Abstract

Describes the Carboniferous and Mesozoic strata and the structure of the Aust-Beachley district of the Severn estuary, England, where a bridge is to be constructed. The folds and faults in the Keuper marls (Triassic) are the result of compaction, but several post-Triassic faults of tectonic origin are indicated.
