Describes the occurrence of a marginal, alkali pyroxenebearing facies of granite associated with skarn formation, at the contact of the Durness dolomites and the Tertiary Beinn an Dubhaich granite in Skye, Scotland. The granite is analyzed, and comparative analyses of somewhat similar rocks are given, including an aegirine granite from Sviatoy Noss, Transbaikalia, and an aegirine-hedenbergite granite from Natal.
