This book brings together 22 papers that collectively provide an overview of processes in shear zones. For anyone working on shear zones in the middle or lower crust or mantle this is an excellent resource, containing a wide variety of research, and demonstrating techniques on scales from microfabric studies to regional analysis using GIS technology. However, the emphasis of the papers is very much on ductile shear zones rather than brittle faults.
