Presented in this volume is an eclectic mix detailing current thinking on different aspects of ancient reef systems. Although the reefs described are presented from a geological standpoint, the volume not only covers different aspects of reef evolution and their associated sediments, it also covers how different processes have influenced reefal development. Given the concerns over the current status of reefs at this time of global change, the volume is likely to be of interest to a wide audience, including marine biologists, ecologists and oceanographers, as well as geologists.
