It is ambitious to attempt to comprehensively cover the geology of a country with as rich a diversity of rock types, ages and structures as Spain in a single text, even within 650 pages. The editors have tackled this by assembling an army of some 160 contributing authors, almost entirely local experts from Spanish institutions, to contribute their knowledge and assemble this into 19 chapters.
