Abstract

Carbon-14 dating of wood fragments and palynologic data indicate that Pleistocene glacial outwash sands in Cardiganshire (southwest Wales) represent a glaciation that was probably equivalent to the main Wuerm glaciation of continental Europe and an immediately preceding interstadial that was related to the middle Wuerm interstadial rather than the Paudorf interstadial.
