Abstract

Cuticle fragments obtained by maceration of the Bathonian (Jurassic) coal, and lycopod megaspores from shale underlying the coal of the mine at Brora, northeast Scotland, are described. The assemblage exhibits affinities with that of Jurassic floras of northern Yorkshire (England). Pterophyllum cycadites n. sp. is described, based on cuticles from a Yorkshire locality designated as the type, with supplemental data from the Brora fragments.
