Abstract

Some 23 faults with an offset of more than 30 feet, cutting sharply across the strike of the beds, and exhibiting either a dextral or a sinistral pattern have been mapped in the Ludlovian (Silurian)-Downtonian (Devonian) rocks of the Llandeilo area, Wales. They are described as rotational strike-slip faults. Their form resembles that of fractures that have been attributed to the Armorican stress system.
