Abstract

Nine ostracod species, of which eight are new, are described from the Speeton clay (Cretaceous) at its type locality, Speeton, on the Yorkshire coast, northern England. The new species are Eucytherura neocomiana, E. nuda, E. ornata, E. rectangulata, Cytheropteron (Cytheropteron) reightonensis, C. (C.) punctata, C. (Eocytheropteron) nova, and C. (Infracytheropteron) exquisita. The genus Eucytherura is recorded for the first time from Europe; E. ansata is described.
