This special issue focuses on research, at the Geological Survey of Canada (GSC), in the use of geochemistry in support of mineral exploration and geological mapping. Research in the application of geochemistry at the GSC has been applied in both bedrock and surficial materials studies. In support of these studies are the establishment of sampling protocols, data management and data processing tools that are also covered in this special issue.
