In the print and online version of the title article, an incorrect version of the mineral formula of vesuvianite was given (page 194). The correct vesuvianite formula should be: Ca₁₉Mg(MgAl₇)Al₄(Si₂O₇)₄(SiO₄)₁₀[(OH)₉|O].

Consequently, the mass balances involving vesuvianite (page 213) have to be reformulated, and the corrected formulations are given below.
