In the print and online version of the title article, an incorrect version of the mineral formula of vesuvianite was given (page 194). The correct vesuvianite formula should be: Ca19Mg(MgAl7)Al4(Si2O7)4(SiO4)10[(OH)9|O].

Consequently, the mass balances involving vesuvianite (page 213) have to be reformulated, and the corrected formulations are given below.
