On the heels of the Akilia project, I encouraged Steve Mojzsis (Fig. 4.1) to join our group once he’d completed his Ph.D. at Scripps. He received both University of California and NSF postdoctoral awards that serially supported an extended stay with us. While we had little prior expertise in early Earth studies, “Mojo” was a one man critical mass on the topic.
