Abstract

Chiloguembelina cubensis (lower Oligocene to lower Miocene) and C. ototara (upper Eocene to lower Oligocene) are different species with different rates of expansion during growth and different surface ornament. The extinction of C. cubensis may not be a reliable bioevent to mark the base of the Chattian Stage in the New Zealand region.
