Abstract

The type specimens of Globorotalia incognita Walter and G. zealandica Hornibrook are refigured and described. These species comprise a short-ranged early Miocene lineage known mostly from New Zealand. Globorotalia zealandica is a well-developed globorotaliid, while G. incognita retains some primitive features that link this lineage with a paragloborotaliid ancestor.
