We dedicate this volume, on the application of ichnology to petroleum exploration in Western Canada, to the godfather of Canadian ichnology, Dr. S. George Pemberton of the University of Alberta, in acknowledgement of his pioneering work in ichnology, particularly as it pertains to petroleum exploration and exploitation.
