McMechan (2000) is an important contribution to the study of Neoproterozoic glacial events in the North American Cordillera. By documenting the great thickness of the Vreeland continental slope deposits and their substantially extrabasinal source, she adds to the number of thick (>800 m) Neoproterozoic diamictites indicating dynamic wet-base glaciers (McMechan, 2000).
